Dr. Arnaud Zaldumbide is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical and Cellular Immunology at LUMC. After studying Cell and Molecular Biology in Nice, he completed his PhD in 2003 and joined the group of Prof. Rob Hoeben where he advanced research on viral inhibitors of antigen presentation and on the role of stem cells in diabetes. Since 2012, he has been a staff scientist at the LUMC, driving innovation at the interface of islet transplantation and immune intervention. His work focuses on unraveling the molecular mechanisms of T1D pathology and developing strategies to protect newly generated beta cells from recurrent islet autoimmunity.
