Dr. Marcel Muskiet is an internist-endocrinologist and vascular medicine specialist at Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC), and an internationally recognized researcher in the field of diabetes and obesity. His research focuses on the development and evaluation of innovative treatments for diabetes and obesity and their related complications, with particular emphasis on the interplay between metabolism, cardiovascular health, and kidney health.

Within Cure One, he contributes his expertise in clinical and translational research. By bridging fundamental scientific insights with applications in patient care, he works on new treatment strategies that may help improve current therapies and ultimately contribute to the development of a cure for type 1 diabetes.
