Françoise Carlotti

Françoise Carlotti is an Associate Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at LUMC. As head of the Islet research lab, she coordinates fundamental and pre-clinical research to develop novel preventive and regenerative therapeutic strategies for type 1 and type 2 diabetes. She has a longstanding interest in human pancreatic islet biology, regeneration, including the generation of human pluripotent stem cell-derived islets, and in vivo models for testing of (hPSC-derived) islet function. She is a principal investigator in the Dutch regenerative medicine consortia RegMedXB and NWO-XL PanCreaTE, and in the European H2020 consortia ISLET. In addition, she serves as an Associate Investigator at the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Stem Cell Medicine, reNEW.
